Mayworks Kjipuktuk/Halifax is a multi-disciplinary arts festival which aims to build a society that celebrates the history and struggles of working people. The annual festival serves as an extended celebration of International Workers’ Day – known also as May Day – and seeks to feature works that speak to struggles for justice across communities and generations.
The festival’s interest reaches beyond art that relates directly to labour, work or the workplace, and includes art that speaks to any fight for social, economic or environmental justice.
