Fugitives of the Creative Economy: The labour and resistance of young culture workers in precarious times

May 9, 2016 | 6:00 pm8:30 pm

| Free

Presented by the Radical Imagination Project
In partnership with the Art & Activism Collective at NSCAD and the Khyber Centre for the Arts

It’s no secret: work (and lack of work) in the cultural sector in Nova Scotia is tough, especially for young people. This roundtable discussion and workshop examines the deeper causes and diverse consequences of these trends. But it also offers visions of solidarity and struggle by and for young workers in the ‘creative economy,’ as well as time to build relationships and new collaborations.

Guest speakers: Raven Davis, Max Haiven, Jonna Pedersen, Rebecca Rose, Marina Sitrin and Cassie Thornton.

This event will be followed by A Precarious Workers’ Soirée at the Art Bar.
