  • Places to sit or lean are present at most tour stops.

PLEASE NOTE: Route notes are for the route followed AFTER the stop described.

Stop 1: Corner of Spring Garden and Brunswick Street, inside wall

Notes: There is a paved path to get to this location inside the wall and there is no need to move onto the grass. There is the option to sit on the grass or on the wall. Accessible public washrooms and water are available at the new Public Library.

Route: Turn right inside wall and move short distance to front entrance of the Memorial Library.

Notes: Paved path. This route is without any major changes in grade.

Stop 2: Outside of main entrance of the Memorial Library

Notes: Paved path available. There is the option to sit on the grass or on the steps of the Memorial Library.

Route: Move on the paved path to the left to Grafton Street. Turn right onto Grafton. Move along Grafton to the corner of Sackville Street. Cross Grafton Street to be on the harbor side of the corner.

Notes: Paved Path and paved sidewalk. This route runs along the hill without any major changes in grade.

Stop 3: Corner of Grafton and Sackville Street

Notes: Paved Sidewalk. The sidewalk area is in part covered by an overhang that provides protection from the sun.

Route: Cross Sackville Street, move through the covered area that divides the two parts of the new convention centre—a continuation of Grafton Street. Stop prior to crossing Prince Street.

Notes: Paved and covered. This route runs along the hill without any major changes in grade. The corner of Grafton and Sackville has a curb cut on the side we start on however to get onto the sidewalk on the far side instead of a curb cut there is a break wide enough for a car to go through so it is not in line with the curb cuts on the other side. We will be stopping just to the right of the convention centre through next to the BMO and the whale sculpture. There are stairs and a ramp/slope to access the location. There is a wall to lean or sit on and steps to sit on.

Stop 4: In front of the BMO and whale sculpture next to Prince Street

Notes: This location has multiple places to sit, including a wall and stairs. There is a ramp that runs directly next to the steps.

Route: Turn Right down Prince Street. Turn Left and cross Prince at the corner of Argyle. Turn Right and cross Argyle. Turn Left down Argyle. Enter the Grand Parade at the path in front of St. Paul’s Church and across the street from East Coast Credit Union. Cross in front of the church toward Barrington.

Notes: Paved sidewalk and paved path. This route runs mostly directly down hill and at the last section inside the Grand Parade runs down hill on an angle.

Stop 5: Between St. Paul’s Church and Barrington Street

Notes: Paved path and grass available. There may be picnic tables to sit on, otherwise, there is the option to sit on the grass.

Route: Head to Exit of the Grand Parade. Turn Left.

Notes: This is a very short walk slightly down hill. We are moving into the entrance of Grant so that we can see down Barrington Street.

Stop 6: Entrance to Grant Parade

Notes: This is a stop where space is limited so we will only be here briefly.

Route: NOTE: As of writing this route is currently under construction. Two options are provided depending on if construction is still taking place.

Option 1 – Construction ongoing: Turn Left on Barrington Street. Cross Barrington in front of the TD Bank and turn Right on George Street. Cross Hollis Street. Turn Right and cross George Street. Turn Right onto Bedford Row and stop just in from the corner.

Notes: Paved sidewalk. This route runs almost entirely down hill.

Option 2 – Construction completed: Cross Barrington Street at George Street. Continue down George Street to Bedford Row. Turn Right onto Bedford Row and stop just in from the corner.

Notes: Paved sidewalk. This route runs almost entirely down hill.

Stop 7: Bedford Row just to the right of George Street

Notes: Stop is on the sidewalk, with a wall to lean on.

Route: Turn Left back to move back to George Street. Turn Right and cross Bedford Row. Continue straight down George Street. Cross Lower Water Street and walk past the Queens Marque towards the water. Stop on Benches to the left of Cows.

Notes: Paved Sidewalk. The first part of this route goes downhill but becomes flat when Lower Water Street is crossed.

Stop 8: Benches to the left of Cows

Notes: This stop has a limited number of benches and there is the option to sit on the ground. Accessible public washrooms and water are available at the ferry terminal. This stop has the potential to be quite busy so we will orient ourselves based around that with the goal of being in sight of the water. If we need to move slightly it will be in such a way as to not add any physical barriers.
