With Bill Lewis and the All Nations Drummers
Presented in partnership with Halifax Public Libraries

The Mayworks Halifax Festival opens with a ceremonial recognition of the Peace and Friendship Treaties that bind us together in the Atlantic region. We also recognize the land where we work, struggle and celebrate together in the spirit of those treaties. An opening address will be offered by Indigenous elder Billy Lewis and followed by drumming performed by the All Nations Drummers.

The opening ceremonies will be immediately followed by a screening of Honour Your Word and a Q&A with filmmaker Martha Stiegman.
